Raising a pet is like raising a child. Besides providing food and clothing, health care cannot be ignored! Many owners think that “pets don’t get sick, so there’s no need to take health care products”. But that’s not true. Scientifically supplementing with health care products can prevent many common diseases, especially for elderly pets, young pets, and pets with weaker constitutions. Today, let’s share several health care products that my pet has been using for a long time. New pet owners, don’t make the same mistakes as us!
The first choice is pet probiotics. Whether it’s a cat or a dog, their digestive systems are very fragile. Just a little overeating, changing the food, or stress can cause loose stools or diarrhea. At this time, probiotics come in handy. Whenever my cat changes food or has loose stools, I will give it a little probiotic. I will do this for 2-3 consecutive days, and its digestive system will return to normal. When choosing probiotics, be sure to select those specifically for pets. The strains and dosages of human probiotics are not suitable for pets and may increase the burden on the digestive system; in addition, choose probiotics with a high number of live bacteria and without additives. This will result in better and safer effects. You can also give your furry friend a little every now and then to regulate the intestinal flora and enhance the digestive system’s resistance.
Next is pet fish oil, which can be described as “the beauty enhancer and joint protector for pets”. My cat’s fur used to be dry, frizzy, and shed a lot of hair. After feeding it fish oil for a period of time, the fur became smooth and shiny, and the amount of hair shedding decreased significantly. Moreover, the Omega-3 fatty acids in the fish oil can protect joints, prevent skin diseases, and are also friendly to the joints of elderly pets. When feeding fish oil, pay attention to the dosage and feed according to the pet’s weight to avoid overfeeding. If the pet doesn’t like to eat it, you can mix it with cat food, dog food, or squeeze it onto snacks for easier feeding.
There are also pet dental care products. Many owners tend to overlook their pets’ oral problems. In fact, pets can also have issues such as tartar, bad breath, and periodontal disease. If not cleaned regularly, it will not only affect the pet’s appetite but may also lead to other diseases. In my household, we use a combination of “dental cleaning sticks + mouthwash”. Every day, we give the cat a cleaning stick, which can not only grind its teeth but also remove the food residues on the tooth surface. Once a week, we use 1-2 times of pet-specific mouthwash, dilute it and add it to the drinking water. We don’t force the pet to rinse its mouth, but it can clean its mouth and remove bad breath. If the pet’s tartar is quite severe, it is recommended to take it to the pet hospital for teeth cleaning regularly, once or twice a year is sufficient.
One final reminder: Health care products should not be used in excessive amounts. The choice should be based on the age and physical condition of your pet. Avoid盲目 supplementation. It is best to consult the advice of a veterinarian to ensure scientific care, which will enable your pet to be healthier and live a longer life.
